2013 World Record Baseball Game
Current Monarchs player/manager and two former Monarchs, Paul Talaski and Jason Kirkpatrick, are now official World Record Holders.  These three players were part of the 52 players that played 62 hours 32 minutes and 59 seconds of baseball May 17th - 19th to help raise over $75,000 for the tornado victims of Joplin, Missouri.

On May 22, 2011, Joplin, Missouri, was hit by an EF5 tornado that stretched 1 mile wide and had winds in excess of 200 MPH.  The tornado claimed the lives of 161 people that day and more than 1,100 were injured.  Not to mention countless homes and businesses that were completely destroyed.

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball.  I'll tell you what I do.  I stare out the window and wait for spring." Rogers Hornsby

"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime."  Babe Ruth

"You spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time."  Jim Bouton

“Being a Dirtbag is great, it’s a great group of guys. We’re just players who like to get dirty and play hard. We’ll always battle every inning, every at bat – it’s just a hard-nosed way to play ball.” Jeremy Reed

"Be the change that you want to see in the world." Mohandas Gandhi

"I just got one last thing, I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have. To spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get you're emotions going." Jim Valvano

“Being a Dirtbag means giving 100 percent in everything you do...going all-out on every play, and always putting the team before yourself.” Bobby Crosby

"
I cannot command winds and weather." Horatio Nelson

"
Age is a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter." Satchel Paige

"Being a Dirtbag means you bring all you have to the table in every single game. It doesn't matter the conditions or who you're playing or where you're playing. You have to get down and get dirty and do what you have to do to win. It means giving up an at-bat to move the runner over, to hit the sac fly, giving it all until the moment you walk off the field." Adam Heether
